Compass Rose Adventures
About this listing
Sea Pro (Center console) originally built in 2001. Powered by a 200HP Yamaha engine with a maximum cruising speed of 25 knots.
Set a course with Compass Rose Adventures and experience some of the most fun fishing that the Lowcountry has to offer. Captain Asheton targets all types of inshore and nearshore species, and specializes in nearshore reef trips when the weather permits.
The fishing vessel is a spacious 21 ft Sea Pro bay boat. With plenty of seating, a large T-Top for shade, and high sides with a safety rail, this is a comfortable and secure vessel for anglers of all ages. The boat is very versatile: its shallow draft allows it to access the narrow creeks of the backcountry, while it is also a comfortable boat for nearshore cruising. There is a large ice box on board for you to keep your drinks cool throughout your trip.
Compass Rose Adventures give you the opportunity to choose between fishing inshore and nearshore aboard the Sea Pro. Inshore, you can expect to catch Redfish, Sheepshead, Trout, Flounder, Black Drum, and many types of Sharks, as well as the occasional Tarpon. At the nearshore reefs, the action is always hot: you can expect to catch all of the inshore species as well as King and Spanish Mackerel, Black Sea Bass, Triggerfish, Jacks, Spadefish, Cobia, larger Sharks and Bull Redfish.
All the rods, reels, and tackle you will need during your trip are provided, although you are welcome to bring your own gear if you prefer. Fishing licenses are also provided by the company. Compass Rose Adventures advise you bring your own drinks and snacks, as well as an icebox you can keep in your car so you can take your catch home with you at the end of the trip.

Took us to 3 different locations. Hand multiple rods out (7-8 total) and kept us informed of what we could be catching. Always had the hooks baited and cast out quickly. Great all around experience. I would recommend it to everyone I know

During our recent visit to Charleston my wife, 15 yo daughter and I had the good fortune to get paired with Compass Rose (Cap’t Asheton) for a morning of fishing. Asheton was prompt, the boat was clean and well-equipped, and we were on our way. The first stop yielded some smaller fish and a couple of hits on the stern tackle that severed the wire leaders, but things went quiet. The winds had prevented boats from getting out to the Nearshore Reef on prior days, but the day was quieter and Asheton suggested we give it a try.
The ride out was bumpy but not too bad, and a spot was picked. Our first cast yielded a small fish, our second a baby cobia, and our third an 8 lb spadefish. That was a pretty good start- and then the action really began. A school of spadefish started congregating and 50% of our casts resulted in a hookup, with most of the others getting hits that we missed. During the next 90 minutes or so we quickly had enough big ones in the cooler, then it just became catch-and-release. The last few casts brought in a couple of good-sized sharks and a 34” redfish. And we were worn out, probably having caught 30+ fish.
A great trip, and Asheton was both professional and personable. Highly recommended..

Took my two son-in-laws and 14 yr old granddaughter on this trip. We had a ball!!!! Ashton is great. He put us on fish. The redfish were too big to keep. At the end my granddaughter said she was tired but never got bored during the 5 hrs. we were out. I credit that to Ashton.
