Onyer Marks Specialist Charters
Onyer Marks charters are pleased to present two brand new state of the art charter boats. Both boats are 21 ft Smartliners, each with an outboard 115 HP Tohatsu engine. They are fitted out identically with all the necessary navigational systems and first aid equipment, with a small cabin to protect you from the worst of the weather.
Operating from the picturesque south-west of Scotland, ‘On Yer Marks’ Charters are based in a perfect spot for fishing. In the immediate vicinity of Luce Bay, you can fish in 30 ft water under picturesque cliffs, and you only need to travel a couple of miles out into the Irish Sea to find water depths of over 260 ft. This means that if weather conditions change you will be close to shore, and trips are rarely cancelled.
Fishing in the area can be very varied, and it’s possible to catch up to 20 species in a day. During the summer months small Shark species are targeted, with species such as Tope, Bull Huss, Rays and Spurdog common. Fly fishing for Pollock around the inshore reefs is getting increasingly popular in the area, and both fly fishing equipment and instruction can be provided if required, although there is a limit of two fly fishermen at once aboard a charter. In the spring and autumn the operation moves to Crinan to target Giant Common Skate, which often comes in at over 200 lb.
With their two boats, the company can cater for parties up to 12. They specialize in corporate entertainment and ‘team building’ holidays, meaning time spent with them is more than just a fishing trip. They offer airport transfers and 5* accommodation, making them an excellent base from which to explore some of the best of what the country has to offer. They can even offer you your very own piece of Scotland to take home with you, in the form of a bottle of 18 year old Macallan whiskey. Professional photography equipment is on board, providing you with lasting memories of your charter trip in CD format.
