Based out of Daytona Beach, Whataday Charters is your ticket to a memorable time on the water.
Come on aboard with Capt. Clarence and Capt. Joshua, whose main priority is to get you on some fish. Expect to use techniques like bottom fishing, trolling, and drift fishing, based on the species you’re targeting. Speaking of which, you have the option of 4 to 8-hour trips, where you’ll be fishing for the likes of Spotted Seatrout, Snapper, Redfish, Sheepshead, Flounder, and Black Drum, depending on the specific season and the day’s weather.
You’ll be fishing from a 21’ Tidewater boat with enough room for up to 6 anglers at any single time. It also includes an ice box, and wireless trolling motor. All rods, reels and terminal tackle are included in the price so you can focus on what really matters, fishing. The captain will supply all the needed fishing licenses for your trip.
You’re welcome to keep all legal species caught during the trip. Capt. Clarence and Capt. Joshua runs trips with their first mates, who are there to help you with whatever you may need. Tips are always appreciated for a job well done.
There will be complimentary drinks aboard for your convenience during the trip, but feel free to bring your own drinks or snacks if you prefer. This is a children-friendly charter, so you’re welcome to bring your kids on for a fun fishing adventure.

Awesome time and great captain

We were lucky he had an opening as we had another charter booked and when I messaged captain to confirm address he stated oh I am cancelling. No notice nothing! I scrambled to find another charter with less then 24 hours and by the grace of God and good fortune found Josh and what a day charters!
The trip was awesome! We have been on charters in 4 different states and never have we had someone try so hard to make sure we were catching some keepers! By the end of the trip it felt like we were hanging out on our friends fishing boat having a blast! Josh was great with my son and we had a great time and he put us on many fish and it was a slow day as other charters we passed said they were barely catching anything !
We caught a bunch and kept 10 to have Cooked up!
Great adventure and might even book with Josh again before we leave town

I was always curious about the name of this charter company. After spending time on the water with Captain Josh, the name of his charter definitely fits the bill. “What A Day” we had fishing with Captain Josh.
He was waiting for us on the dock when we pulled up. I was on a 4 hour trip starting at 7:00 am with my father-in-law and two 20 year old sons. He provided sodas, water and even sunscreen. (Ours fell out of our bag in the car but he was prepared even for that).
Captain Josh gave us a run down of what his plans were at the beginning and off we went. During our trip we caught, Red Drum, Lady fish, Pompano, Sheepshead, Catfish, and even a few Ugly fish for good measure. Oh, and a stingray as well.
We had good conversation and learned about, and a little something about each of the fish we caught. It was nice to learn about Captain Josh, his background, his passion for fishing and how he found his love of the sport of fishing with his dad growing up.
It was a hot day but we caught some fish, shared stories, and for sure found where we plan on coming back to when we return.

Thank you for a fun trip

Captain Josh took our family out for a fun fishing trip. He was very patient with my boys and helped them throughout the trip. He showed them how and where to cast, and taught them which bait to use to target specific species. Both boys caught a ton of fish. Captain Josh took us to specific spots so that my son was able to catch Sheepshead. That was his goal for the day. He caught 4!! Captain Josh grew up in Daytona beach, so he knows the area very well. Both boys are already planning our December 2025 trip with Whataday Charters! Thank you Captain Josh!

Our family had a blast!

This was our first family fishing charter. We all had a great time! The captain was absolutely wonderful with our two girls, and they both caught lots of fish. (I caught some too!)
He even beached the boat on a little island so the girls could splash around a little and cool off.
Honestly a perfect experience. So glad we booked with these guys!
