Today we did the 5 hour fishing trip leaving at 6:30am. We arrived around 6am to make sure we could get the licenses and payment processed with no wasted time. We cruised back in around 1:45pm. It was excellent! We caught two ginormous yellow fin tuna, 3 gorgeous mahi mahi, as well as a grouper. Our captain was great and we even got to see some whales. Please be advised that this does not come with food or drinks. We KNEW this and brought water and snacks! Some other reviews complained about this but it’s clear in the listing. When we got back to the dock we tipped some guys at the marina to cut and clean the fish. We are extremely happy.

This is our second trip with Captain Pollo and it just gets better! We had the amazing first mate Coco Alejandro with us so this time we new we were up for an adventure. First I lost my glasses in the water. No problem! Capt Pollo called a diver and saved me from being blind for the rest of the trip. Onward to our adventure. These two are a great team! Kind, knowledgeable, patient all the ingredients needed for great fishing! We’ve been here 3 times and never caught a fish. This time we caught 5 two dorados, two triggerfish, and a delish snapper..the trip is worth every penny! We have a marina right by our resort and will drive the hour to meet with our Pollo! Highly recommended. You will not be disappointed

It was a very slow morning and hot. We didn’t catch anything until the last hour and a half of our trip. Jesus did a great job of trying to put us on some fish early that morning but what can you say, we’re fishing.
We managed to get one mahi-mahi and landed one rooster fish. Two more rooster fish got away, but it was a fun day.
Like I said, Jesus did a great job to make sure we landed some fish before returning back to the docks.

We went on a five hour fishing trip with our captain Cesar from Captain Pollo fishing excursion today, and had an amazing time catching multiple species of fish and watching all the sea life. We saw whales, dolphins, stingrays, and manta rays on our trip. Our captain always made sure to stop and allow us some veiwing time. As Canadians our spanish was poor, that said, Cesar made sure we felt comfortable and most importantly, caught lots and lots of fish. They made sure we had drinks, and accomodated every need along the way. Upon returning to shore, they filleted the fish at no additional cost, and allowed us to take some back to our airbnb. This was all around a five star experience, and the next time we are in San Jose del Cabo we will be sure to return.

We left San Jose Los Cabos Marina early on a 7 hour trip on the 2nd of November. The water was a bit rough, especially in the ponga, but we started trolling and Al picked up the first fish of the day, a nice Mahi Mahi. It took us a half hour to get to the Tuna grounds.
The water was busting with activity of bait fish, and we decided to cut bait and drift fish over the Tuna below.
It wasn’t minutes before the first bite.
The first Tuna was about 25lbs and gave me a good battle. Alan landed another Yellowfin about the same size and it gave him everything that he wanted,  except the crying! lol
Al is a bit older and I think that the drag was a bit loose…but he landed it like a champ!
I purchased a new heavy rod and Penn 12000 series spincast reel especially for the Tuna. The Captian gave me instructions to hang on to my rod, and I did, as all the rod holders were in use.
The scream of the drag in Alejandros hand got my attention,  as it was my turn for another fight. As I turned,  I set my rod down and turned towards the Captain…I heard a big commotion to my left. As I turned around and seen what was unfolding, I had a split second and got two fingers on the butt of my new outfit…but this Yellowfin was way out of the league of Tuna we had been fighting! It sounded like someone hit our boat with a 50-caliber!!! Al ,Alejandro, and myself looked at each other with disbelief as the image of my new tackle disappeared into the clearest of blue ocean!
So after a tounge lashing in Spanish/English, we went back to fishing. So we missed those two bites.
Another set and drift created another opportunity. I hooked up with a little better fish, but this time I tighten up my drag a bit, as it looked like 150lb mono. It was by far the best fish we landed that day. It looked to weigh about 35 lbs.
So all in all, it was a great trip with a big tip, still swimming at the bottom of the crystal blue waters of Baha!
