Capt. George Zarlengo and his hardy yet comfortable vessel ‘Genesis’ are ready and waiting to take you to some of the best spots the area around Juneau has to offer on a 3- or 5- day cruise. The comfortable boat is fully equipped for living aboard, with a Dickinson stove, large refrigerator, comfortable accommodation and a fully equipped bathroom with a Sealand Vacu Flush toilet.
Trips aboard Genesis will combine excellent fishing with the chance to explore the fantastic scenery, quaint fishing villages and untouched nature of the southwestern Alaskan coastline. Chartering out of Auke Bay, a fishing village overshadowed by the mighty Mendenhall Glacier, you will have the chance to take a multi-day cruise to a variety of locations.
On a three day cruise choose between visiting Hoonah or the Excursion Inlet in the Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve, famous for Salmon fishing as well as being a prime spot to view Bald Eagles among other bird species, as well as Whale watching. Otherwise, the Baranhof springs and the surrounding area allow you to bathe in famous warm springs after a long and productive day of fishing. The area around Tenakee hot springs is famous for its Salmon, Halibut and Steelhead fishing.
5 day trips allow you to travel further out, exploring wider areas of the Glacier Bay National Park with its range of fishing options, or heading out towards Pelican and Elfin Cove by the Lisianski Inlet, once top of the world rankings for landings of King Salmon. Otherwise get acquainted with the Norwegian heritage of the Petersburg island community located near the summer feeding grounds of hundreds of Humpback Whales, close to the Anan Bear and Wildlife Observatory, one of the best places to view Black and Brown Bears feasting on Salmon. Or, if you’d prefer, take a cruise down the spectacular Tracy Arm Fjords, where you’ll not only have the chance to see glaciers floating past you, but also experience wonderful fishing.
