Big Dave's Fishing with Capt. Sam – Driftboat
Capt. Sam is an expert that can explain any technique or strategy needed to catch that trophy fish of a lifetime! He’ll do his best to put you on the fish and to make sure you have fun doing it. As part of the 8-hour trips, you can target species like Steelhead and Chinook Salmon, depending on the current season and weather conditions.
If you’re after the tackle-busting Chinook Salmon, they are no joke. Regardless of your skill level, you’ll have an adventure and learn a new trick or two. Back-bouncing eggs, bobber fishing, and drift fishing are all productive methods that Capt. Sam uses for catching Chinook.
When it comes to Steelhead, it is considered by some to be the crème de la crème of Oregon’s coastal rivers. There’s nothing quite like bobber dogging for Steelies with your bait drifting perfectly through the holes, just waiting for your rod to load up. Pulling plugs, along with bobber and jig fishing, are all techniques that Capt. Sam dominates in catching the acrobatic Steelhead.
Your trip begins on board an 18’ Clackacraft boat that can fit a maximum of 3 anglers. All the necessary fishing gear is included in the price. Please keep in mind you’ll need to get a fishing license before the start of the trip. You’ll be able to keep any legal species caught during the trip. Children are welcome aboard.
