Running fishing trips out of New York City, Austin Outfitters invites you to fish the calm, sheltered water of Jamaica Bay in comfort with your friends and family for trophy gamefish! Our local estuary hosts both resident and migratory striped bass as well as Fluke, Bluefish, Weakfish, and Porgy.
Captain Austin was born and raised in Brooklyn and has been fishing the waters in and around the NY Bight, NYC, and Jamaica Bay for over 40 years. He has worked in the fishing industry for over 20 years and authored 250 articles on catching a variety of fish species in NYC waters.
Expect to use light tackle and techniques like bottom fishing, jigging, and spinning, based on the species you’re targeting. Speaking of which, you have the option of 3 to 6-hour trips, where you’ll be fishing for the likes of Striped Bass, Bluefish, Seabass, Scup, and Weakfish, depending on the specific season and the day’s weather.
You’ll be fishing from a 21 ft. Maritime Skiff 20D center console with a 2022 Yamaha 115 4-stroje outboard. She is a dry, stable, extremely seaworthy boat with a wide open layout that perfectly aligns with our light tackle fishing philosophy. She has enough room for up to 4 anglers at any single time. It also includes a porta-potty and an ice box.
When it comes to rods, reels, and terminal tackle, everything you need is included in the price. Your trip will also include all the necessary fishing licenses for the day.
You can keep anything you catch, as long as it’s legal to do so.
There will be complimentary snacks, and drinks aboard for your convenience during the trip, but feel free to bring your own drinks or snacks if you prefer.
Children are always welcome aboard so you’re good to get the young ones started early.
Book your trip now and hit the water with Austin Outfitters.
