Shelton's Charter Fishing
Virginia Beach has a fish with your name on it, so let Shelton’s Charter Fishing help you catch it! Your guide for the day is Captain Chuck, bringing aboard years of professional experience.
Cobia, Mahi Mahi, Flounder, King Mackerel, Black Seabass, Sheepshead, Spanish Mackerel, Tautog, Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, and more can be found in these waters, depending on when you go. For these species, you’re likely to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.
Your adventure begins aboard a 32’ Albemarle convertible with space for 6 passengers. It has outriggers, a fighting chair, and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. Rods, reels, and tackle are covered by the charter, along with lures. Live bait is on offer, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.
You’ll have the help of a First Mate to put you on fish. Mates often work for tips and it’s customary to offer them a 10–20% tip.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, so all you have to do is show up ready for a good time! Have in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. If you don’t know what to expect, ask the captain.
It’s never a bad idea to bring sunglasses, bottled water, and sunscreen (non-spray). If you’d like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
Now and then the fish might get away, but a day on the water never should. So make it happen, with Shelton’s Charter Fishing!
