Treble J Guide Service

440 West Cotter Avenue
Port Aransas TX, United States

Capt. Jack has been fishing the Texas coast since he was a child, when he learned how to fish with his grandfather in Port Mansfield. He has been fishing the Upper Laguna, Corpus Christi, Port Aransas, and Rockport waters since the 1980s, and has been running fishing charters full time for well over a decade.

Whether you would like to fish the bays for trophy inshore species such as Trout and Redfish, or go Flounder gigging in a purpose-built vessel, you are sure to have an enjoyable and memorable experience. You will be using some of the best fishing equipment on the market, and will be well looked after whether you are a seasoned fisherman or a complete beginner.

Capt. Jack practices conservation at all times, realizing these resources are not endless. He is an avid tournament fisherman, fishing several of the live catch Redfish tournament trails along the Texas coast.

On a trip with Treble J charters you will need to bring:

* Current Texas fishing license w/ saltwater stamp

* Proper attire for weather conditions

* Hat, sunglasses, & sunscreen

* Food and drinks (no hard liquor, no glass bottles, can beer is fine)

* Ice chest to take fish home

* Proper wading gear for wading trips

* USCG approved life jacket for any child under the age of 13 (must be worn whenever motor is running). The PFD 1 (lifejacket) I am required by the USCG to carry is very uncomfortable for wearing all day!

* Feel free to bring your favorite rod & reel, especially for wading trips

So give us a call and “Let’s go fishing!”

Capt Jack made sure that we were kept up to date on the trip, weather conditions, meeting spot, etc. He met us early and had every thing ready to go.. He was in constant contract with other guides to determine the best place to be… we had booked an 7 hr trip but we had our limit within the first five hours… weather conditions prevented us from moving to another location for a different species and fishing reports from other guides confirmed that it probably was not worth the trip.. because of our lengthy return trip home it was great that we got finished early… two of my grandsons were first time bay fishermen and we could not have asked for a better experience…

Fishing isn’t my game, but I do enjoy a good day of it.  Decided to get my husband a fishing trip for our day….I did not regret it at ALL!  Capt. Jack had called us the night before to square up plans on where to meet and what time.  Since we stayed in Port Aransas we met there.  He put us on redfish and black drum.  The flounder was on accident.  the trip was enjoyable with conversation and joking.  When it appeared to be slow he moved or changed up the fishing a little and the fishing was on.  Very knowledgeable about the area and what was going on.  Will definitely be going out with him again.

If you have never done a gigging trip:  GO!  This is absolutely the best.  Capt Jack has an incredible boat—lighting is awesome!  My wife loves to get out at night and look at all the sea-live in the bay at night—This is an absolute blast and a great experience for the first-timer to the bay or the experienced gigger.  Trust me on this one:  you can do no better than Treble J for a gigging trip!
