Homer Halibut Hunters runs angling trips out of Homer, Alaska, and offers to show you the thrill of fishing in the "Halibut Fishing Capital of the World!"

Capt. Jim will do his best to ensure you have a fun day full of fishing. He specializes in bottom fishing, trolling, jigging, and spinning, all to get you on that bite. This involves 7 to 9-hour trips, mainly fishing for Halibut, Rockfish, and Salmon, depending on the type of trip and conditions on the day.

Are you looking for that trophy Halibut and to experience fishing in Alaska? This area is known for its breathtaking scenery and abundant marine life, and captain Jim can’t wait to show you a memorable day where you can also bring the whole family.

Your boat for the day will be a 30’ North River that fits up to 6 anglers at any one time. The boat comes with a toilet, and all the necessary fishing gear is included in the price of your trip. All that’s up to you is to use it as best and buy your fishing license ahead of time. You’ll be able to keep any legal species caught during the trip.

Capt. Jim runs trips together with his first mate, who’s there to help you with whatever you may need. Tips are always appreciated for a job well done.

Captain Jim grew up in Kenai, Alaska, fishing the river banks as a kid. After earning a master’s degree in electrical engineering, he worked in the world of technology and became an Airline Transport Pilot for a well-renowned airline. In 2014 he brought his daughters to Kenai River to experience the magic of this area and unknowingly started a journey that would bring him back to Alaska. Now he owns Homer Halibut Hunters and Kenai River Guided Fishing and wants to create memories together with you!
