FLP Fishing Charters runs angling trips out of Clearwater and offers to show you what the local fishery is all about.
Capt. Michael aims to tailor every trip to your specific needs, so let him know what you're after! Depending on the trip and species, you'll be using techniques like light tackle, bottom fishing, trolling, fly fishing, drift fishing, jigging, popping, and spinning. You're looking at 2 to 8-hour trips, where you'll usually go after Redfish, Snook, Snapper, Cobia, Tarpon, Shark, depending on the weather and time of year.
Your fishing adventure starts on a 22' Scout boat that can safely take up to 6 anglers. This boat features an ice box, and a wireless trolling motor.
All rods, reels, and terminal tackle are included in the price so you can focus on what matters, fishing.
No need to worry about fishing licenses, as they will be provided and handled by the charter.
You're welcome to keep all legal species caught during the trip, but you're welcome to release them if you decide to.
The price of your trip also includes complimentary water, but you're welcome to bring your own drinks and food. Please let the captain know if you have any questions or special requests.
Children are welcome aboard, so you're good to get the young ones started early.

I recently booked a fishing trip charter with Captain Michael out of the Clearwater Beach / Belleair Bluffs area, and it turned out to be a great day on the water. From the moment we left the dock, Captain Michael’s knowledge of the local waters is obvious, his fish behavior, and techniques made the whole trip a learning experience. The highlight was hooking into this absolute beast of a snook—a beautiful 40-inch trophy that fought like a champion! It pulled drag hard, made powerful runs, and gave me an epic battle. Captain Michael was right there coaching me through every step—giving calm, expert guidance on when to reel, when to let it run, and how to keep the pressure on without losing it. Thanks to his coaching, I was able to land this stunning gamefish, which is easily a catch of a lifetime. The boat was comfortable, the scenery was gorgeous (perfect Florida sunshine and water views), and Captain Michael made sure the entire experience was safe, enjoyable, and successful. If you’re in the Tampa Bay / Clearwater area and want to target big snook or just have an outstanding day fishing, I can’t recommend Captain Michael and FLP Fishing Charters enough. What an incredible fishing trip from start to finish! We had an amazing day on the water catching trout and staying busy with fish all day long. The scenery was just as impressive as the fishing, we were lucky enough to see dolphins swimming nearby, which made the experience even more memorable. The highlight of the trip was hooking into a massive Goliath grouper. The fight was absolutely unbelievable and had everyone’s adrenaline pumping. Even though those fish are known for their size and strength, just getting the chance to hook one was an experience I’ll never forget. The captain was knowledgeable, professional, and worked hard to keep us on the fish all day. Between the trout, the dolphins, and the excitement of the Goliath grouper, this was easily one of the best fishing trips I’ve ever been on. Highly recommend to anyone looking for an unforgettable day on the water! 🎣🐬🐟
My wife, 7 year old son, and myself had just relocated to Tampa from out West and my big guy wanted to go fishing on his first weeknd as a Floridian. We found Capt Michael pretty last minute but the reviews were excellent and he delivered a wonderful afternoon for our family. The boat and all gear were in excellent shape and he had my son catching fish right away, and was so patient with him and let him help out on the boat…which my son absolutely loved!!! Wasn’t planning in finding a great guide down here to catch fish and learn the ropes so soon but Capt Michael made it very easy!!! We will definitely be booking again and coming back for more fish, knowedge, and laughs!!! Thanks again Capt Mike!!!!!
Captain Michael is extremely knowledgeable with sport fish and how to target them. Weather and water conditions were far from ideal yet he still managed to put us on fish. Very friendly and patient. His boat was in excellent condition and his tackle is top of the line and very well kept. He knows a great deal about the surrounding area as well. He made a tough day on the water an awesome experience. We would highly recommend!!!
Mike was very hospitable and knowledgeable. We had originally booked a morning trip on Wednesday and when we got to the boat ramp the weather conditions were less than favorable and Mike let us switch to the following Thursday morning trip when the weather was much more pleasant and the bite was hotter. We highly recommend fishing with Mike and we will be going out with him in the future!
