Join Discovery Channel Shark Week’s star, Dr. Craig O’Connell on this shark fishing expedition of a lifetime! Dr. O’Connell is a licensed captain with over 10 years of experience in the area! This local knowledge will help give you a wildlife experience you won’t forget.
On your expedition, you will focus your efforts on capturing some of Montauk’s most incredible sharks, including GREAT WHITE SHARKS, Shortfin Makos, Common Threshers, and Smooth Hammerheads. We have special state and federal permits allowing us to target some of these species.
Our day will start off by capturing live bait and will end with us either going to the inshore or offshore fishing grounds to capture our target species. All sharks will be tagged, so part of your experience will involve tagging the animals. If we capture baby Makos, these sharks will have to be brought aboard the boat so special tags can be attached (which is a thrilling experience). If we have a little spare time, we will try some bottom fishing (Black Seabass or Fluke) so you can bring home some dinner.
With each trip, you get a $500 tax donation receipt to our nonprofit organization.
Trip length will vary based on weather and success but will average around 6-8 hours.
