Based out of Dunedin, Get After It Fishing Charters is your ticket to a memorable time on the water.
Capt. Derek aims to tailor every trip to your specific needs, so let him know what you’re after! He specializes in light tackle fishing. You’re looking at 4 to 8-hour trips, where you’ll usually go after the likes of Spotted Seatrout, Tarpon, Redfish, Snook, King Mackerel, and Spanish Mackerel, depending on the weather and time of year.
Your fishing adventure starts on the nicest and newest boat in the area, a 2024 custom Tidewater 2500 Carolina Bay that can safely take up to 4 anglers. This boat features an ice-box, wireless trolling motor, dual power poles, and a tower with a second station.
When it comes to rods, reels, and terminal tackle, everything you need is included in the price. The captain will supply all the needed fishing licenses for your trip.
You’ll be able to keep any legal species caught during the trip.

Absolutely the best! My 7 year old is hard to please and had big expectations (fishing is his passion) and excitement going into this and they were exceeded in EVERY WAY! Do not for a second look for another charter company! We loved it so much that we are planning a trip in fall to come back to spend a few days fishing again! Derek (the captain) was so knowledgeable and so patient with us! He even taught my kiddo a few new things! Beautiful boat, beautiful memories! Again, hands down one of the best things my son and I have done in all our travels! I wish I could give them more stars but you won’t be disappointed and the only regret you’ll have is not spending longer on charter!
From my 7 year old: this was the coolest day and I really liked captain Derek, he let me sit on top with him and I learned how to use a spinner reel finally and he is my new friend!
Truly isn’t anything better than hearing that!

We have been on several charters over the years and none have compared to the experience we had in Clearwater with Captain Derek and his first mate, Beckett. Beckett kept our hooks baited and Captain Derek put us on the fish! We caught snapper, trout, and several other fish. The best part is he knew the waters and where to go to be most productive. We had a 6 hour charter and would have done 12! The added bonus was they filleted, cleaned, and ziplocked the catch at the end of the trip. We will definitely book again when in Clearwater! Hurry and Book- you will not be disappointed.

I scheduled a 2 hour trip with Capt Derek on Get After It Fishing Charter. I wanted to do a fun, exciting experience for my husband and boys for Father’s Day and this did not disappoint! This was our first time ever going fishing and Capt Derek was great. He had all the gear, bait our hooks, and brought us to some great spots where we caught our dinner! My boys were so excited about catching fish and had an absolute blast. They watched as Capt Derek cleaned our catches and couldn’t wait to go home and get cooking.
We are already thinking about when we can get back in the water and bragging to our friends about our great trip. Thank you so much for a fun, memorable day!

Can’t recommend Derek enough! My son and I had an amazing trip and Derek definitely put us on the fish. We caught a speckled trout, a couple of Jacks, and got into the Redfish. He’s an amazing guide and really knows the area. He’s a joy to visit with and has a fantastic boat. We did the four hour morning trip and it was perfect. Plus, it was a bonus that he could talk Fantasy Football with my son! Thanks for the memories.

This was my wife’s first fishing trip and she’s sold now. Derek adapted quickly when the right fish weren’t biting and we went to other places until we hit the jackpot. He’s really knowledgeable and a ton of fun to fish with.
