Capt Dan, is the man. His boat is awesome, super sound system. Well let’s get down to brass tax. The dude is legit. I’m a 20 year Navy veteran that has fished all over the world and multiple continents. Capt Dan is the best and funniest captain I have ever went with. He never gives up and never surrenders. He got us on a phenomenal mahi trophy, can’t wait to mount! The mate Brenton was on his game constantly trying to get us bites and does the work flawlessly. I can’t wait too come back, I won’t go with anyone else. Underwater Cowboy is no BS he’s a master diver and a rodeo Champ! But also like the best uncle you’d ever meet. These dudes know what they are doing and won’t stop don’t stop! Love these guys!

Our fishing trip with Capt. Dan from Underwater Cowboy was absolutely unforgettable! Despite some tricky weather, Captain Dan really looked out for us, making safety a priority and steering us through the challenges like a pro. We scored big with yellowtail snapper before the storm, thanks to his fishing know-how.

The vibe on the boat was amazing, thanks to Capt. Dan’s music selection and Angel, the deck hand, who was a huge help, especially for our newbie anglers. The boat was totally ready for anything, and even with less-than-perfect weather, we had a blast. From the first meeting, it felt like we were hanging out with family, with laughter, stories, and awesome fishing moments.

As OG Kansans ourselves, swapping stories about our favorite hometown spots, we felt as if we’ve known Dan for decades. Capt. Dan’s expertise went beyond fishing; he shared cool insights into scuba diving, spearfishing, and the fascinating history of Florida Keys shipwrecks.

Hands down, I can’t complement enough about Underwater Cowboy for an outstanding fishing adventure. Capt. Dan’s skills and friendly vibes made us feel right at home, and we can’t wait for the chance to do it all over again. Huge thanks to Capt. Dan for an incredible journey!

First and foremost, Captain Dan is a gentleman and scholar with a wealth of knowledge of all things life. Yes, offshore fishing and rigging is one of them to say the least! Very friendly and humble, with a touch of wit.

Now, enough rambling! The weather has been very suspect here in Key Largo the last several days. Waters were a bit rough and cloudy! However, Captain Dan was able to put us on some good Mahi, blackfin and yellowfin tuna! He went above and beyond all day to cater to his guests! Fish were cleaned and filet properly and his sweet fiancé is flash freezing them for our departure in a few days. For anyone looking to book a very pleasant, professional fishing charter, Underwater Cowboy will not disappoint!

It was windy, it was wet, it was 6-8’ waves and a saltwater bath! But it was also some of the most fun we’ve ever had fishing and that’s thanks to Captain Dan and Alex. Dan is a courteous and knowledgeable captain and just dang easy to get along with. Alex is well skilled and busts his rear to get you on fish. I seriously cannot recommend these guys enough. We only caught 3 fish in those unfavorable conditions and we could not have cared less because it was a blast just being on the boat with the crew. Highly, highly recommend, and we’ll be back!

By 8:30am, we had 20 fish in the box. Capn Dan and his great mate Steve put us on the fish about 16 miles offshore. Seas were a little rough, but so worth the quick trip in his super fast (and mostly dry) Contender. If you’re looking for a gregarious, knowledgeable and fun captain to experience Keys fishing - Dan is the guy!
