Capt Trenton did a great job with everything. He was knowledgeable and efficient.  I requested that we go after something that required skill and I didn’t want to just “catch fish”.  He suggests we go after tarpon.  And then the wheels went into motion and shortly thereafter I’m watching truly large tarpon rolling on the surface.  Although we didn’t catch one ( it was only a 4 hr trip too) the experience was awesome.  I feel like I got a master class on tarpon fishing. Which was exactly what I wanted.

I have been on many charter fishing trips. This was different and fun. I found it interesting taking a few minutes to catch live bait. It was also fun learning several techniques for catching fish. We caught 3 different species. Four if we would have boated the Goliath Grouper. I had fun letting a big Barracuda eat one of my snappers and trying to boat it. While we missed seeing the American crocodile, we did see large rays and other wildlife. This trip is great for the beginner and experienced.  I only wish we did a 3/4 or full day trip instead of the half day. We will definitely doing one of them next year.

We could not have asked for a better captain for this full day of back country fishing.  He had gone above and beyond to make this a special day for everyone on board.  It was my daughters 16th birthday and what a treat it was to be out on the water catching fish! Even though the fishing for EVERYONE in the Keys inshore and offshore were a slow go this week, we had fish on pretty much the entire time. If we were not catching we moved on to another one of his favorite beautiful spots.  We truly had a Fantastic time and would 100% book with him again- he is amazing and has a true passion for this job and it shows!  You won’t go wrong booking with Captain Trentin Leary….. Tight Lines for sure!

Awesome morning on the water with Captain Trentin Leary out of Bud n Mary’s Marina. Texted him the day before and asked if we could make it a priority to go for fish that we could eat, and boy did he deliver!! Trip started at 7am and by 7:15 we had our first snapper in the boat. That trend continued for the next four hours and we ended up with 7 snapper big enough to keep, one nice snook just shy of keeper size, a small barracuda, and countless little snapper we threw back. Fish were still biting at 11:00, (when our trip was supposed to end) and he was as eager as we were to keep fishing and go for “one last cast” about ten times 🙂. Made it back to the dock by 11:20 with big smiles, we definitely would have extended to a full day if we didn’t have prior plans for that afternoon. Back at the marina he cleaned our catch for us which amounted to lunch for five people, huge portions. He was great all around, even took the time to show us baiting and casting tips and tricks after we told him we were interested in learning. We will fish with him again!
