This was on my bucket list to do a fly fishing trip out on the ocean. I’m an experienced fly fisherman so I thought I’d do pretty well if I got to a place with fish. Well, Tony as my guide made that happen very easily. He put me into fish real quick. The pictures show my 1st, largest, and my last which was the 14th catch of the day. Tony told me the record for 1/2 day was 8 and a full day was 12. I beat the full day record in 3 hours of fishing. I had 3 more hooked but they spit the fly out but still 14 in 3 hours is the record to break now. Tony said no one would believe that this actually happened especially in a 1/2 day trip. Well it did happen because I caught them all. Lol This was an awesome tour with an awesome guide. Captain Hillyboo Lara was very awesome to work with as well. Have a blast my friends. I absolutely loved it!! Hope you will too. :)

Was fun — used bait (sardines) and spin casted. I caught a sting Ray and others caught snapper. Daughter hooked a tarpon which she fought for a while but it broke the line. She was hoping for some more instruction and help with actual fly fishing rather than bait. Ramiro is a great guide — knowledgeable and very friendly.

Shelby knew where the fish were for sure.
the light spinning equipment worked but there was not enough line on one of the reels and the other rod had been broken and epoxied back together.
Other than that and having to help Shelby push the boat out of the mud it was a successful trip, we boated 3 bonefish and that is fine with me.
P.S. I fish a lot on the Texas coast and pushing a boat out of the mud is nothing new to me ! All I could ask for is a little better equipment.
