Huvadhoo Hunter’s is all about fishing the stunning waters of Maamendhoo. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Hassaan can tell you all about the local fishery.
Around here the fishing is popular for Amberjack, Great Barracuda, Bohar Snapper, Coral Trout, Groupers, African Pompano Jack, Sailfish, and more if conditions allow. For these species, you’re likely to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.
If you’re traveling with the family, you will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board.
You’ll be casting lines from a 32’ Center console with room for 6 passengers. It has outriggers and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. Your captain will provide rods and reels. Live bait is on offer, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.
You might need to buy a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off-limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
Some essentials to bring are sunglasses, sunscreen (non-spray), and bottled water. Drinks are included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be food and some light snacks available on board.
And that’s it! Your fishing trip with Huvadhoo Hunter’s is just a click away.
