If you’re ready to enjoy fishing in Quepos, book a trip with Hidalgo Sportsfishing. Captain Jose will be your guide, allowing you to benefit from years of knowledge and experience.
Depending on the time of year, you might hook into Amberjack, Barracuda, Bonito, Mahi Mahi, Red Grouper, Lobster, Blue Marlin, Sailfish, Roosterfish, Snapper, Spanish Mackerel, Tuna, and whatever else is biting. On these trips, you can expect to troll. For the more adventurous among you, there’s spearfishing. You can take home any fish you catch, assuming they’re legal to keep. Plus, you can have your catch cleaned. Now that’s dinner!
You’ll be fishing aboard a 23’ Bay boat with space for 6 passengers. Your captain will provide rods and reels, as well as lures. There will be light snacks and drinks on board, and you’ll have the help of a First Mate to put you on fish and make the most of your trip. A 10%–20% tip at the end of the day is customary to show appreciation for their hard work.
The charter boat covers your fishing license for the day, so all you have to do is show up ready for a good time! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish. It’s always wise to bring sunglasses, sunscreen (non-spray), and a hat.
Now and then, the fish might get away, but a day on the water never should. Time to make it happen with Hidalgo Sportsfishing!
