Tidewater Fishing Charters specializes in inshore light tackle fishing in the beautiful, untouched bays around St Augustine. They tend to run their trips in beautiful, natural surroundings where you can relax into nature and often go for miles without seeing a single house. In fact, Capt. Noah D. White usually aims to guide his guests to the prettier parts of the intercoastal waterways, following the fish to areas mostly untouched by humans.

Capt. Noah offers a variety of trips aboard his 20 foot BayScout, a vessel that can cope equally well in the shallow flats and in choppier nearshore and offshore waters. This model of bay boat is well regarded for its impressive hull design and flared bow that offers anglers an excellent soft, dry ride. The quiet, reliable four-stroke Yamaha outboard engine supplies plenty of power, and Garmin navigational electronics aid the captain in guiding you to fish. Large livewells and a releasebox are supplied on board, and a Fusion radio with Bluetooth can play a soundtrack of your choice as you embark on your charter trip. There is plenty of room for two anglers, with slightly limited space for a third if necessary.

A fishing trip with Tidewater Fishing Charters will involve fishing for a variety of species that inhabit the intercoastal areas around St. Augustine. These might include Redfish, Flounder, Trout and Black Drum depending on the season, while more experienced anglers might enjoy traveling further out into the ocean to target Cobia, Tarpon and Kingfish in season. Tidewater Safari uses premium live baits including shrimp, finger mullet, pogies (menhaden) or mudminnows.  They carry a variety of lures by Rappala and Mirrolure, and the use of high quality Shimano reels and rods by Star and Key Largo is included in all charter trips.

About the Captain

Noah D. White
St Augustine, Florida, United States
Member since December 2015
Capt. Noah grew up in the Panhandle Florida coast, where he began fishing as a kid with his dad. During his teen years he became obsessed with surfing, and he moved to St Augustine after high school to be around more consistent surf. There he found that techniques on the northern gulf coast are pretty much the same as in northeast Florida, making it a seamless transition. Capt. Noah has always had boats and has always had an arsenal of rods and tackle. It seemed natural to begin guiding. He spends almost every day on the water, sometimes to just scout. This is essential in the backcountry creeks and oyster flats in the area, and makes all the difference between one guide from another. Noah doesn't just fish the rocks and docks as many local captains do, but prefers to put in the hard work to stay on top of the fish in the backcountry. This is far more rewarding, and will leave lasting memories. He looks forward to showing you the best of the St. Augustine and the First Coast.

Thanks for the good review Kirk.  I enjoyed having you and Kate out for the day- wow, how much better Kate got with a spinning rod throughout the day!  Come for a long weekend in the fall..it’s our nicest time of year and the inshore fishing is fired up.  thanks again. Capt. Noah

We thoroughly enjoyed the day on Capt. Noah’s boat.  Conditions were not ideal but he went the extra mile to prepare equipment and give us every opportunity to catch the species we asked to target.

Great morning on the water with Captain Noah.  While the fishing was a little slow Noah was a huge help in providing tips for my son and myself when fishing.  The boat was clean and big enough to comfortably allow for three people to fish.  We will be calling Noah on our next vacation to St. Augustine.  Highly recommend.
