This was by far the worst fishing experience we have been on.  This was for my son’s graduation.  We basically spent $900 to sleep on this boat.  We originally were greeted as we got onto the boat.  There might have been one other time before we left that we were actually spoken to while we were on that entire trip.  The captain and crew barely spoke to each other.  We did not have a bite the entire day.  My two sons were able to touch a fishing pole one time to drop a line next to the boat to pull up bait fish. We could have had the same or better experience fishing from the shore line.  To tell me “that’s just how fishing goes sometimes” is not acceptable.  We listened to other fishermen talk on the radio about what a wonderful day they had.  When we got back to the dock we saw 8-10 fishermen with wheelbarrows full of fish.  Not including the time to drive out and drive back we still spent pretty much the entire day driving from spot to spot leaving our lines in for maybe three minutes at a time.  Like I said the most expensive nap we have ever had.

Hello Teresa This is Captain Dusty. Let me first say I am so sorry your day was not a success. I am truly upset that this day did not work out. Your son deserved a great graduation present. I hope you enjoyed some family time before he goes off to conquer his future and I am sorry this trip did not add good memory’s to this celebratory occasion. Congratulations to him and to you on a job well done and to the bright future that awaits him. No excuses it is my job to find the fish. I spared no expense in my quest to find a few day saving fish. As you mentioned we drove spot to spot. Traveling uses a lot of fuel but I truly turned over every stone possible in my effort to save the day. Unfortunately this was a case where the fishing shut down in the afternoon. This sometimes happens in the summer and if the choice was made to leave early we probably would have been victorious. The other boats that had fish were on full day trips and had left the dock at 7a.m. instead of noon. This is why they were already talking about the good catches they already had while we were still searching for fish. For anyone reading this response this is why it’s a good idea to do a full day or to get up early for a morning half day. That being said sometimes afternoons do have advantages. I apologize for our interaction with you and with my deck hand seemed to be lacking. I feel the pressure to make every trip a success and when fishing is difficult I sometimes get to focused on working a game plan that my interaction can lack. I love to fish and I love my job. I especially love helping families make good memories and I take it to heart when that doesn’t happen. Please find forgiveness in your heart for me. This business supports me and my family along with my crews family. I know the old saying that’s why it’s called fishing and not catching doesn’t help but I hope you found some enjoyment in your family time where cell phones don’t work and spending time together on a beautiful ocean is what counts. I wish you would have contacted me first before writing a review that could hurt my livelihood so I could have a chance to explain the trip. If you want to give me a call I will be happy to explain, apologize for the poor fishing and see what I can do to make it better. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to take you and your family fishing.

some sound proofing on the engine would help
two inexpensive fighting chairs would be nice
padding on boxes would help a lot
crew could be a little more professionally dressed and cleanner at least at the start off the day

Great weather, great trip Our group had a catch of 7 large King Macerals.  Only one got away.  Great experience in a once in a lifetime adventure.  Maybe we will do it again.
