Although all radio reports indicated the fishing was slow, Captain Ronnie and Adam knew exactly where to go. We started out trolling and caught two huge Bonita and several large King Mackerel. We moved out to deeper water and started hitting Red Snapper. While landing one of the 25 plus pound snappers, a 7’ Sand Bar Shark bit it in half 3 feet from the boat. Adam said it was the “Tax Man” taking his share. Captain Ronnie and Adam quickly rebaited with part of the Bonita we caught earlier, and hooked the “Tax Man”. Watching it take the bait was amazing and fighting it was even better. All in all, we caught (4) King Mackerel, (2) Bonita, (12) Red Snappers, and (1) Sand Bar Shark, not bad for a “slow day of fishing”. We were able to safely release the Red Snapper and Shark. When we return to port Adam filleted the Mackerel which we took back to our report to feed (4) families. The boat had a huge canopy which provided shade when we weren’t catching fish. Captain Ronnie knew where to go and when to leave a spot, while Adam kept us entertained with his fish calls and completely stupid jokes. I would highly recommend this trip and will be rebooking next year.
