Book your next trip with Discover Alaskan Adventures and find out what keeps anglers coming back to Ninilchik for more. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Chris is prepared to put you on fish.
Depending on the season, you might hook into Cod, Salmon, Lingcod, Black Seabass, Rockfish, Chinook Salmon, Pink Salmon, Coho Salmon, and whatever else takes the bait. Depending on the species you’re after, you may find yourself light tackle fishing, trolling, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Families who love fishing together will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise, you should bring your own. Snacks are never a bad idea so that nobody gets cranky on an empty belly!
Capt. Chris operates a 30’ North River aluminum fishing boat with room for 6 passengers. It comes with downriggers and everything else you need for a productive day on the water. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. You’ll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures.
A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. A 10–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.
Before coming aboard, you may need to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off-limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
Some essentials to bring are sunblock (non-spray), a hat, bottled water, and sunglasses. If you’d like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
Go ahead and treat yourself to a day on the water with Discover Alaskan Adventures.
