Looking to catch some fish in Durban? Aqua Nautical Adventures is your ticket! With Captain Wilheyne at the helm, you’ll have a knowledgeable and experienced guide.
Depending on conditions, you might hook into Great Barracuda, Bonito, Mahi Mahi, Geelbek, African Pompano Jack, Blue Marlin, Musselcracker, Sailfish, and whatever else takes the bait. For these species, you’re likely to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle. You can take home some of the fish you catch within size and bag limits. Catch cleaning is available, so you can take your fish home without any hassle. Your next meal doesn’t get any fresher than that!
Families who love fishing together will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. And, you can’t go wrong with snacks so that nobody gets cranky on an empty stomach!
Capt. Wilheyne operates a 28’ Magnum performance fishing boat with space for 8 passengers. It comes with outriggers and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Rods, reels, and tackle are included.
There will be a First Mate on board to help your trip run smoothly. A 10–20% tip at the end of the day is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work. Before coming aboard, you may need to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
It’s recommended to bring sunglasses, bottled water, and sunscreen (non-spray). There will be some drinks on offer, but be sure to let the captain know if you wish to bring your own.
How often would you rather be fishing? Go on and turn that daydream into a reality, with Aqua Nautical Adventures.
