Top Shot Sport Fishing is located in Hilton Head, South Carolina and specializes in nearshore and offshore adventures. Going out with Captain Jay and his crew of mates, you will be in the know of which fish you can catch and where the fish are. These guys are experts at teaching kids how to look for fish, how to cast lines, and how to reel fish in.
You will fish aboard an established charter boat: a 31 foot Morgan sport fishing boat, powered by a 430 HP Caterpillar Turbo Diesel engine. The spacious and comfortable boat will get you to the productive grounds safely using a GPS and a fishfinder. It is equipped with all the safety and electronics needed, and also has a toilet and a flybridge.
Captain Jay Prescott has been a Hilton Head Island resident for over 30 years and is the owner and operator of Top Shot Sport Fishing. He is a patient and knowledgeable man who loves to take out families and teach them about the local fisheries and the importance of preserving them for the future generations.
He will take you to the nearshore and offshore waters off the Southern tip of Hilton Head Island, and into the Harbour Town, Daufuskie Island, and Tybee Island waters. On your way to your fishing grounds, you can see some 200 - 400 dolphins that call these waters home year round, proving that South Carolina has amazing wild and marine life.
Your targeted species will depend on the seasonality: if you go out from November to April, you will mostly be bottom fishing for Black Seabass, Trigger Fish, Grouper, Snapper and other bottom fish. If you go out from April to October, you can expect to troll for King Mackerel, Bluefish, Bonita, Spadefish, Barracuda, Spanish Mackerel, Sharks and other species.
Top Shot Sport Fishing trips include a USCG Licensed Captain and mates, tackle and bait, fishing gear, ice to store your drinks, and shaded seating. There is no gate pass and no parking fee, which is a huge plus!
