Maggie Joe Sportfishing – Ku’uipo 

If you're going to cast a line in Kailua-Kona, look no further than Maggie Joe Sportfishing! With Captain Kevin at the helm, you'll benefit from years of knowledge and experience.

Mahi Mahi, Tuna, Marlin, Shortbill Spearfish, Wahoo, and more can be found in these waters, depending on when you go. For these species, you're likely to troll using light or heavy tackle. You can bring home part of the fish you catch, and the crew will clean and fillet it for you, so you can take your fish home to eat. How's that for fresh seafood?

Get on board a 38' Phoenix boat that can carry up to 6 passengers. It has outriggers, a fighting chair, and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without, and there's a toilet on board for your convenience. Your captain will provide rods and reels, as well as lures. Any live bait used is caught on the charter.

A First Mate will be there to assist you and make sure everything is running smoothly. It's customary to tip the Mate 10%–20% at the end of the day to show your appreciation. Thinking of bringing the whole family? Kids 5 years old and older are absolutely welcome!

It's never a bad idea to bring sunglasses, sunblock (non-spray), snacks, water, and a hat. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Shared and private fishing trips are available.

*** IMPORTANT POLICIES ***

Fish Policy:  Any fish that you catch that weighs less than 100lbs we will cut for you. We will cut half the catch up to 50lbs maximum leaving the boat per trip. There are exceptions and all final decisions are at the captains discretion.

Shared trip:  For shared charters we require a minimum of 4 guests to confirm a trip.

Payment policy: We require a credit card to hold reservations. Once your reservation is placed we will contact you.

Fishing License: Licenses are required for anglers ages 15 and above

Fuel Surcharges: due to the high cost of fuel we will have a daily fuel surcharge.
