North Lake Charters has been in the business since 1967. Since then, they have raised thousands of giants and have grown to become one of the most experienced sportfishing charters in North Lake and Prince Edward Island. They practice fun, exciting and responsible fishing for giant Bluefin Tuna.
Bluefin Tuna is the hardest fighting fish in the ocean and legendary for not only breaking 130lbs class rods and big game reels but the spirits of grown men. Lose one or share your rod with a partner, and it’s understandable… Hell, it’s Giant Bluefin Tuna!! Land one on your own, mano a mano, with a stand-up rig, and you will have bragging rights for the rest of your life.
While the species is overfished in some other areas of the world, strict conservation in Canada has allowed the species to thrive. This is one of the best places to meet one of these giants face to face, and who better to do it with than a family of record-breaking Tuna fishermen?
You will be fishing aboard a sturdy 44’ Northshore boat that is more than capable of handling the strain that Tuna fishing can place on a vessel. Equipped with a cozy cabin heated by an oil stove to keep you protected from the elements, this fully inspected boat has all the space and equipment you need to tackle this ultimate sports fishing species.
The Atlantic Bluefin Tuna can grow up to 10 feet in length and 1000 pounds in weight. A warm-blooded species, they are extremely energetic and can reach speeds of up to 30 miles an hour. Come in September or October for your best chance to catch the fish of a lifetime.
The Keus family realize that people will travel great distances to fish for Tuna from Prince Edward Island and offer clean and comfortable cottages to their guests. They feature full kitchens, BBQs, Wi-Fi, and A/C, as well as 4 comfortable beds per cottage.
This is true bucket list fishing for the ocean’s most prestigious predator. Head out in these waters, and you go home a whole different class of angler.
