The name of the game around here is fly fishing, and that’s exactly what you’ll do. I’ve been fly fishing for over five decades and have been a guide for two plus decades. I’ve had the privilege of fishing in 42 states and three continents. I’ve fished both fresh and salt water. I also worked for Orvis and I currently teach fly fishing classes for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in Jamestown KY. You may need to bring your own gear for this trip or rent some for an extra fee. You’ll need to bring your own waders/wading shoes as I don’t have those. Contact Mark ahead of time so you know what to expect and come prepared.
These waters hold game fish like Brook Trout, Brown Trout, Rainbow Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Sunfish, and more if conditions are right.
Mark welcomes groups as large as 2 on this guided experience. You’ll be fishing without a boat, so expect to make your way on foot at least part of the time and come dressed for current weather conditions.
Be sure to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group ahead of time. You can find out more online, including exceptions that may apply. Plan to dress in layers and appropriate footwear (if you aren’t sure what that is, just ask). It’s never a bad idea to bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and bottled water, no matter the weather.
And with that, you’re ready to experience the great outdoors with Thank Goodness I Fly Fish!
