I read hundreds of reviews for other charters and was not quick to choose due to 2 children who have not had a lot of experience on a boat. Upon booking, captain Jason asked what we wanted to target and I told him I would be bringing my wife and 2 children (5, and 9) and didn’t care what we caught as long as it was a good experience. He delivered 110%. He gave us the option to change locations the morning of for more favorable conditions and more active fish. He was great with my kids. Very patient with teaching them about the bait and local fish we were catching. The majority of fish that we caught were white trout but caught many other species as well. We caught so many fish the 5 year old was done after an hour and the 9 year after an hour and a half. We filled the cooler in an hour and started culling the smaller ones we were catching. It was still enough to feed the 4 families that we rented a house with leftovers. I plan to book again and have recommended Jason multiple times already.

Took my four boys and myself.  Did a four hour trip with Captain Jason and man he did an excellent job on getting us on some fish!  We did spin cast style of fishing and really enjoyed catching the Spanish Mackerel and Spade fish on the rod/reel combination that he offered. My oldest son even caught a nice Bonita which put on a good fight.  We probably caught over 20 fish but just kept enough for us to eat fresh that evening at the condo.  I highly recommend Captain Jason Shields Charter service for your next fishing adventure.

My wife, her two sisters and their husbands had a perfect half-day fishing trip!  Caught tons of fish and threw tons back.  Nice variety:  many mackeral, two large redfish, two different sharks (!), a ray (!) and others.  Always a fish on the line and many times two or three, so lots of excitement and Captain was always calm, efficient and fun to talk with.  Dan E.
