This recently restored 34 ft AluTec is powered by a 315HP Cummins engine, and is guided by a fishfinder and Garmin GPS. Armed with two fighting chairs, outriggers, downriggers, live bait tank, and first mate on hand, you will be well prepared to take on those big beasts roaming below. The boat has a spacious interior cabin with couch, dining table and toilet. On deck there is space aplenty, so get comfortable as your favourite tunes play via the onboard cd/usb player, and you enjoy the tasty snacks and refreshing beverages included in the trip package.
Choose between either the half or full day trips, both of which mainly target Billfish (including Striped, Black and Blue Marlin), however you may also come across Dorado, Tuna and Wahoo, among others. You will be using high quality fishing tackle, including fishing lines at 40, 50 and 80 lb. test. The boat is rigged to troll four lines in the water, with one line hooked to live bait, and kept in the bait tank until it’s ready for use.

Before I booked, I asked the captain to confirm our departure time, which he did not. Still, we had used his charter about ten years ago and decided to go ahead and book it. Still I emailed the captain for him to confirm the time of our charter with no reply. It just happened that we were able to get off the ship early on the day of and when we we asked for someone to point us the right direction, we were able to find the charly v without too many problems. The crew were just saying goodbye to their morning charter and were surprized to see us. They were not expecting us. They saw our paperwork and made some phone calls and off we went. We had a great time, but had it been for many coincidences we might not have even taken the charter. It comes down to the captain not having responded to the many requests for confirmation. Fortunately it all worked out. The crew were awesome.

The captain and first mate were very nice and professional. However - the boat was not what I had expected or hoped for. The cabin and amenities were very old and worn.
There was not a lot of bench seating inside the cabin nor outside in the back section.
I asked to see the fish finder - and was shocked to be told it was “broken.”
We trolled four hours and caught ONE 12” mackerel that we did not keep.
The boat had a good stereo speaker so we could listen to music - thank goodness.
For lunch - the ham sandwiches looked OK (but I don’t eat meat). It would have been nice to have been offered a choice of food - since it was included in our cost.
We were not provided any bottled water (we brought our own) - only cans of beer were found in their cooler.

I can only describe you as ungrateful, your trip just include chips, those sandwiches & your birthday cake, was not included in the price. At the time you wrote your review , you had neither pay the charter, you cheat me with the payment, which was done 36 hrs. after the fishing trip, and looking for you in many calls, texts and emails until I get your place !!!Merrian Thorpe does not recommend Charly V

The information we received from Fishing Booker when booking this trip was that they would provide drinks, snacks, a fishing license and live bait. We paid extra for all of these. They did give us water which was nice. See confirmation that I uploaded. We would have prepared better for the trip for food and drinks if we would have known it was not provided. Also the live bait consisted of three live fish and two dead ones. We paid an extra $25 for the three live fish. The fishing license was supposed to be $16.00 and he charged us $32.00. Seed upload for the details we received when we booked about food and bait and fishing license. :( Mindy
