Makaira Fish Company – 33' Sea Hunter
Spend the day with Makaira Fish Company and find out what the fishing in Islamorada is all about!
We typically fish for Mahi, Wahoo, Kingfish, Tuna, Sailfish, Grouper, Snapper, Sharks and more, depending on the season. On the day of your trip, you’re likely to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.
You will be fishing from a 33’ Tournament Sea Hunter center console that holds up to 6 passengers. It has outriggers and a tower, along with everything you need for a productive day on the water. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. Rods, reels, and tackle are provided, along with bait. Live bait is available, please ask the captain whether you will be catching bait first thing in the morning.
If you are traveling with the family, kids are always welcome aboard! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available or bring your own that comfortably fit your child. The charter boat covers your fishing license, so all you have to do is show up ready for a good time! Some fish have special regulations, including size and when you can keep them. If you don’t know what to expect, please ask the captain.
It’s never a bad idea to bring snacks, sunscreen (non-spray), sunglasses, and bottled water. If you’d like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
