Inshore: Inshore fishing in Wilmington is very productive. Flounder, red drum, sheepshead and speckled trout are just a few of the species that I enjoy targeting. On these trips, you can expect to fish the intracoastal waters of North Carolina. On calm days, we may also fish along the beach for nearshore species such as Spanish mackerel and false albacore. Inshore trips offer the perfect setting for anglers who like calm waters, abundant fish and stunning marsh views!

Nearshore: Nearshore trips (0-5 miles offshore) are perfect for anglers that want to stay within sight of land but still have the opportunity to catch hard-fighting fish. Expect Spanish mackerel, false albacore, king mackerel, and sharks on these trips.

I'm Captain Will Newman. I grew up fishing the Wilmington coast and feel lucky to call the Onslow Bay waters home. As a kid, my dad and I would spend countless hours fishing for Red Drum and Flounder in the sound. Over time, I developed a fascination with offshore fishing. This fascination turned into an obsession after I caught my first Mahi. Since then, I knew this is what I wanted to do in my life. My dream became a reality when I obtained my USCG Captain License and founded Onslow Bay Guide Services. I aim to share my passion and fishing expertise with all my guests, regardless of their fishing level!
