Make an adventure out of your next trip in Neptune City and go fishing with Mad Hatter Fishing Charters. Your guide for the day is Captain Peter, so you’ll benefit from years of sportfishing experience.
These waters are known for Striped Bass, Black Seabass, Tautog, Flounder, Albacore Tuna, Bigeye Tuna, Bluefin Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Scup (Porgy), Cod, Lingcod, White Marlin, and more – with any luck, you’ll hook into a few!
Depending on the species you’re after, you may find yourself spinning, popping, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Any fish within the legal limit is yours to keep. Plus, you can have your catch cleaned. How’s that for fresh seafood?
Capt. Peter is happy to have kids aboard, so the whole family can come and unplug for the day! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise, you should bring your own. Also, remember to bring snacks so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty belly!
You’ll be welcome aboard a 40’ BHM Downeast with a capacity for 6 passengers. It has outriggers, downriggers, a fighting chair, and all the essentials. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. Capt. Peter will supply rods and reels for you, as well as lures. Live bait is included, but you should ask the captain whether you’ll be catching it yourself.
You’ll have the help of a First Mate to put you on fish and make the most of your trip. It’s customary to tip the Mate 10%–20% at the end of the day to show your appreciation.
There’s no need to buy a fishing license, so all you have to do is look forward to your trip! Have in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. If you don’t know what to expect, ask the captain.
Some essentials you’ll want to bring are sunblock (non-spray), bottled water, and sunglasses.
Now and then the fish might get away, but a day on the water never should. So make it happen, with Mad Hatter Fishing Charters!
