Get Out & About Whitsundays Fishing
Book your next trip with Get Out & About Whitsundays Fishing and find out what fishing in Hideaway Bay is all about. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Andrew knows them forwards and back.
Depending on conditions, you might hook into Golden Trevally, Narrow-Barred Spanish Mackerel, Bluefin Tuna, Queenfish, Bigeye Trevally, Coral Trout, Nannygai, Albacore Tuna, Spangled Emperor, Cobia, Fingermark Bream, Morwong, and whatever else takes the bait. During the trip, you might be spinning, popping, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Thinking of bringing the whole family? Kids are absolutely welcome! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise, you should bring your own. And, you can’t go wrong with snacks – lucky for you, there will already be some on board!
Capt. Andrew will bring you aboard a 21’ Polycraft center console with a capacity for 5 passengers. It has outriggers, downriggers, and everything else you need for a productive day on the water. Your captain will provide rods and reels.
You will need to buy a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
It’s never a bad idea to bring a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen (non-spray). Bottled water will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be food on longer trips and some light snacks for you on board.
How often would you rather be fishing? Go on and turn that daydream into a reality, with Get Out & About Whitsundays Fishing.
