Spend the day with VLand charters and find out what fishing in St. Augustine is all about! Captain David will be your guide, which allows you to benefit from years of angling experience.
Depending on conditions, you might hook into Cobia, Mahi Mahi, Gag Grouper, Goliath Grouper, Scamp Grouper, Spanish Mackerel, Redfish, Mangrove Snapper, Red Snapper, Tripletail, Blackfin Tuna, Wahoo, and whatever else is biting. On these trips, it’s common to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle. Capt. David also offers fly fishing, but you may need to bring your own fly gear.
You’ll find yourself aboard a 33’ Eduardono center console with room for 6 passengers. It comes with outriggers, downriggers, and all the essentials.
Your captain will provide rods and reels, as well as lures. Live bait is available, but you should ask the captain whether you’ll be catching it yourself.
You’ll have the help of a First Mate to put you on fish. Mates often work for tips and it’s customary to offer them a 10–20% tip.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, so all you have to do is look forward to your trip! Have in mind that you may release some fish due to regulations. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.
You can’t go wrong when you bring sunglasses, sunblock (non-spray), and bottled water. If you’d like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
And that’s it! Your fishing trip with VLand charters is just a click away.
