Wet Willy Charters
If you plan on fishing in Long Beach, look no further than Wet Willy Charters. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain William is prepared to put you on fish.
Pacific Barracuda, Bonito, Yellowtail Amberjack, Calico Bass, Bluefin Tuna, Lobster, Halibut, Yellowfin Tuna, Rockfish, White Seabass, Mahi Mahi, California Sheephead, and more could be biting, depending on the time of year. You can expect to do some spinning, popping, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. William can also have you kite fishing.
Planning a family adventure? Kids are absolutely welcome! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Snacks are never a bad idea so that nobody gets cranky on an empty stomach!
Capt. William operates a 23’ Parker saltwater fishing boat that holds up to 4 passengers. It comes with all the essentials. Your captain will provide rods and reels. Live bait is available, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.
A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. Mates often work for tips and it’s customary to offer them a 10–20% tip.
Before coming aboard, it may be necessary to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
Don’t leave home without sunblock (non-spray), sunglasses, and bottled water. If you’d like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
How often would you rather be fishing? Go on and turn that daydream into a reality, with Wet Willy Charters.
