Comodoro Sportfishing

Calle Pescadores
Isla Mujeres QR, Mexico

Discover the fantastic fishing opportunities in the Caribbean Sea with Comodoro Sportfishing, a company located in the tranquil paradise of Isla Mujeres. Captain Rogelio Magaña and his able team will guide you to fish from this beautiful island that is surrounded by some of the most exciting sportfishing in the world.

You will be fishing aboard ‘Comodoro’, a 30 foot Rampage Express. Equipped with excellent Raymarine electronics and powered by two 350 HP Yanmar 6LPA Diesel engines, the boat will get you to fish fast. The air conditioned interior features a full head (bathroom), as well as a dining area, seating and stereo. As far as fishing is concerned, a spread made up of outriggers and a downrigger will make trolling and bottom fishing productive and enjoyable.

Whichever trip you decide to take, you will be in for a treat. With a diverse range of fish such as Snappers, Groupers, Amberjacks and Triggerfish in the nearshore areas, a four hour trip won’t disappoint. If, however, you want to target game fish further offshore, you could be in with the chance of catching Sailfish, Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, Kingfish, Blackfin Tuna, Barracuda, Bonito or even a Marlin. Fishing equipment and bait are included in the trip, as are soft drinks and snacks. You can even take your catch home with you at the end of the day, cleaned and filleted and ready to eat.

If you are looking the one fishing guide on Isla Mujeres for you and your family, THIS IS THE ONE. Expert skipper and mate (Diego) we caught good fish despite not the best of weather or circumstances. We could not find the boat that morning, went back to our condo and called, skipper came to our condo and led into where his boat was—never complained or made us feel like dumb Gringos. All fish cleaned and filleted for us with recommendations on where to get it cooked for us. Outstanding day!

Very nice boat and all equipment was excellent.  The water was very rough the day we were out which made it a little hard to get hands on when doing a little bottom fishing.

Was a very slow day for catching fish.  We catch one nice Kingfish early on and nothing else except a couple small fish while bottom fishing.  This was no fault of the crew as they were trying everything to get us one some fish..

Took my wife and two daughters fishing while visiting Isla. We had a great time aboard Comodoro, and Captain Rogalio and mate, Jose, could not have been better. We originally when out deep and trolled for Wahoo and mahi but we’re unsuccessful.  We knew a bit off season but was worth a try. Then moved in and bottom fished. Caught grouper, snapper and tiger fish. A good catch! We then moved close to the island, as the captain knew that I had a desire to catch a barraccuda. Within minutes,  one was on line. Reeled in a 5 footer, which made the day complete. We only signed up for a half day, but recieved extra time, which was nice. Everyone was happy! Thanks, to the mate for making it all so easy and even diving down to retrieve my daughter’s Ray Bans. We will be back. Highly recommend. One tip…the boat prefers cash. Although listing says Visa, MC, they charge a fee to make up for credit charges. I had to run back to hotel for cash as I did not have an extra 500. on me.
