You need look no further than Fishing Camp Patestis for a genuine Greek fishing experience in the Aegean Sea. You will be departing from Kythnos, a picturesque island in the Cyclades south of Athens that is covered with a total of 92 beautiful beaches and is scattered with pretty villages housing traditional restaurants.

Captain Kostas is based on the north-west side of the island, in the small but bustling harbour village of Loutra. Built around a natural bay, the village is a paradise for fishermen and is easily accessible from Lavrio Port (one and a half hours away) Piraeus Port (three hours). The fantastic fishing is not its only selling point: the town is also popular for its thermal springs and excellent restaurants and bars.

Captain Kostas runs a 30 ft Kreta Mare, a Greek vessel that was built specifically to provide a first class fishing experience around the Greek islands of the Aegean Sea. The boat is powered by two 370 HP Iveco engines that give it a fast and reliable ride. With plenty of seating on deck and in the cabin as well as an enclosed toilet, all members of your party will be accommodated for in comfort.

Fishing Camp Patestis uses a variety of methods to bring a tasty catch home. Whether you’re trolling, bottom fishing, jigging or even longlining, you will be in with a chance of catching a variety of delicious species such as Red Mullet, John Dory, Seabream and, if Kalamari is on the menu, Squids. It’s not all about eating though - Capt. Kostas’ crew has also been known to catch Barracuda and other exciting sportfish. While bag limits don’t apply in the area, Capt. Kostas does require that the catch is split between customers and crew.

About the Captain

I grew up by the sea, and because our island was very small and my father was a fisherman, I have spent my whole life dealing with it. Our family has also run a shop selling fishing equipment since 1983, so it was a natural decision for me to become a captain!Check out our videos on Youtube Channel:hobbyfishingtv
