Book your next trip with Ocean Surf & Sport and find out what makes the fishing in San Juan Del Sur so unique.
Depending on the time of year, you might hook into Mahi Mahi, Sailfish, Blue Marlin, Blackfin Tuna, Jack Crevalle, African Pompano Jack, Needlefish, Roosterfish, and whatever else is biting. Fish caught during the trip are yours to take home, so long as they’re within the legal limit. The crew can even clean your catch for you. Have a cooler ready in the car!
Looking to get the whole family outdoors? Kids are welcome! If you don’t have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there’s one on board. Snacks are also a good idea – lucky for you, there will already be some on board! They’ll also provide water, soft drinks, beer, and ice. It’s recommended to bring sunblock (non-spray), a hat, and sunglasses.
Ocean Surf & Sport welcomes you aboard a 31’ Center console with a capacity for 12 passengers. It comes with a downrigger and everything you need for a productive day on the water. Rods, reels, and tackle are ready for you, along with lures. Live bait is included during full-day trips, but you should ask the captain whether you’ll be catching it yourself.
There will be a First Mate on board to help your trip run smoothly. It’s customary to tip the crew 10–20% to show your appreciation. Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, just show up ready for some fishing! Keep in mind that you may release some fish due to regulations. If you don’t know what to expect, ask the captain.
