Gladiator Sportfishing Samara has a trip with your name on it along the stunning waters of Samara.

These waters are known for Black Marlin, Wahoo, Jack Crevalle, Blue Marlin, Yellowfin Tuna, Cubera Snapper, Mahi Mahi, Striped Marlin, Sailfish, Roosterfish, Yellowtail Amberjack, Grouper, and more.

Depending on the species you’re after, you may find yourself spinning, popping, trolling, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Simone also offers fly fishing and fly gear is included. Young ones are welcome, so go ahead and bring the whole family along! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board.

Your trip begins aboard a 28’ Super Panga with room for 6 passengers. It comes with outriggers and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Your captain will provide rods and reels, as well as lures. Live bait is included, but it’s good to ask about this so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.

Trips are run with the help of a First Mate. Mates often work for tips, and it’s customary to offer them a 10–20% tip. The charter boat covers your fishing license, just show up ready for some fishing! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.

A few items to bring include sunglasses, a hat, sunblock (non-spray), and bottled water. There will be drinks and snacks available on board, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor and glass bottles.

Met with Captain Simone (boat owner) as scheduled and he explained a few things - Jonathan and Justin - the actual fishing trip captain and first mate were absolutely awesome - extremely friendly and very knowledgeable - overall a solid 5 Star rating - go for the extended trip - ll's well worth it!!!!!

Not new to fishing but fist time fishing in Costa Rica. Brough my family with me (some new to fishing), the Captian and crew were very personable and great with the new anglers. Despite being the off season, Captian Simone put us on fish immediately! We will come back for more fishing and use Gladiator again. Thanks Gladiator for helping me make memories with my family!

Half Day Trip – Offshore on June 9, 2025 • 5 adults

Fun times with the crew of the gladiator. Didn't get bites trawling, but went to some deep rocks to try for some grouper and hooked some small fish which a mako shark ate so we ended up hooking the mako. Crazy fight and we got it upto side of boat, took some pics and let it go. Great experience.

Our Captain and 1st Mate worked hard to make sure we caught fish. They special cut our tuna for us and did a great job. I would highly recommend this trip!

Booked this charter to catch a lot of different species of fish on my bucket list, I guess the fishing is slow in summer months of July and August so we just caught 1 sailfish in 8 hours. We did see whales and sea turtles.
