WardoWest Tofino Sportfishing

634 Campbell Street
Tofino BC, Canada

With WardoWest Tofino Sportfishing, the beautiful waters of the Clayoquot Sound will be all yours. Your adventure won’t stop at fishing – the crew strives to foster a genuine appreciation for the ocean and its supernatural environment.

Once an isolated fishing town, Tofino has become one of the finest angling destinations in the world. The Pacific waters of the Clayoquot Sound are home to a large variety of exciting species that make anglers from all around the world come back year after year. The large continental shelf and cold up-welling currents hold a lot of baitfish, predatory, and bottom fish species, including Halibut, Rockfish, Crab, and Lingcod. As well as that, these waters are home to Sockeye, Coho, Chum, Chinook, and Pink Salmon.

All these are waiting for you to step aboard a 28’ aluminum fishing boat, custom-built in 2017. It can comfortably accommodate 5 passengers and has plenty of fishing space. The boat can cruise at a hair-raising speed of 40 knots thanks to its twin 200 HP Yamaha engines.

The vessel’s Garmin GPS, Totalscan Transducer fishfinder, and other modern electronics build up a clear image of where the fish are hiding. There is a restroom aboard, along with a sleeping area, a multimedia system, and an ice-box. The only thing that’s missing is you!

All gear, tackle, and lures will be provided for the trip. You will need to bring a valid fishing license, your drinks, and food.

Dave and Paul are owners and captains of WardoWest Tofino Sportfishing. A local to Vancouver Island, Dave is a passionate angler who has been fortunate enough to begin mastering these waters since a young age. Paul is a local celebrity, who is well-known for the consistent trophy Halibut hook-ups. A trained mechanic in Alberta, Paul decided to become a fishing guide in Tofino and has never looked back. Paul and Dave have been great friends for a long time, which you can easily tell by the way they communicate on the water. Their energy on the dock is also inspiring!

This younger Man loves to catch fish and makes every attempt to be successful. We loved his intensity!!
I was less impressed with the connectivity with the management team.  Left many messages with my phone number(not my wifes) and I never did get a callback. Our fishing time had apparently changed but we didn’t know. That really needs to improve. Tried to make personal contact at the marina the day before but again no one was seemingly available??
The equipment overall was good and the motors ran super and were extremely reliable from our prospective,  My only bitch would be the fish landing net on the white boat.  You fish all day for one or two chances to land the big one and we had that 30+ fish at the boat twice BUT the net was too small and failed to get the job done. Our trophy fish finally slammed around enough to break the metal quik clip and swim away.  Our quide was so upset he didn’t rig up right away and we felt his pain. You did your level best Dave Jr. and we thank you.
We did get a few fish in the tub and overall the trip was successful. Got the fish home yesterday and safe in the freezer.  Thanks to all involved.

Thanks for fishing with us Al,

Initially we had discussed changing the trip as we accepted it on the basis that we could work around our 8 hour morning schedule, which, when we called back, the plans had seemed to change and our manager quickly resolved the schedule to allow your trip to be booked in your favour and offer you a 6 hour morning (which we never do peak season). I would have thought you would have recognized our managers efforts during our busiest time of year to manage this effectively and there was clear communication several days before your trip to confirm the date, time, fishing licenses and exactly where to go for the first morning of your charter. I would suggest next time to put your phone number and not your wifes on the booking form to allow for better communication.

i’m glad you had a good fishing trip, we will indeed be buying a new fishing net to ensure we don’t lose big fish at the boat and apologize you had to experience that, it’s the first we’ve heard about it.

Your feedback is appreciated,

Wardowest Fishing Team.

We had a wonderful half day on the sea.The boat was very clean and comfortable. We caught 6 Chinook and 1 koho that gave us 60 pounds of meat to take back home. This was our first offshore experience (wife and daughter) and we recommande it BIG TIME!!! Thank you David!!!
