I fished two mornings with Tayo. He got me on to young tarpon both days. I had numerous shot and strikes. I touched the leader or boated tarpon each day. The first day we followed up with an hour of hot bone fishing. I had 5 fish on and boated two. We tried to fish bonefish the second day but wind and steady rain made spotting them impossible so we casted for little tarpon instead. A good choice. He is a mangrove maniac! Lol

I’ve fished many places. From a guide you want access to your desired fish, expertise, and somebody that is excited as you to be out there. The facts of this trip: I got access to more juvenile tarpon than I’ve ever seen in a trip before, as well as tons of snook and bones, and for 6 hours that fly rod was swinging practically constantly. Great guys, Was able to land 7 species of fish including a small tarpon and several nice bone fish.  I had a chance at some snook but wasn’t able to make it happen.

Neftali and crew are very nice and very knowledgeable. Boat is basic but functional and can accommodate two adults plus crew.  Captain knows the local conditions and we caught plenty of fish.  They filleted out fish well and we enjoyed grilling the fish.

Due to an unforeseen situation brought by Mother Nature, we had to abandon our original plan of fishing the mangroves for tarpon and snook after only about an hour. No problem! Our Captain took us out into the flats where we caught lots of bonefish! Both Neftali and his first mate have Eagle eyes and can spot fish from far out. I can’t recommend enough that if you’re fly fishing, you practice making long casts into and with the wind to maximize your time!
