Kahuna Fishing Charters
We specialize in big-game offshore fishing! All twelve months of the year, it's all we do other than days when the weather keeps us at the dock. Deep winter is the best time to catch a Giant Bluefin Tuna, and that's what we do best.
Depending on the season, you might hook into White Marlin, Blacktip Shark, Bigeye Tuna, Bluefin Tuna, Skipjack Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, and whatever else is biting. You'll target your catch by spinning, popping, trolling, jigging, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Reed can also have you kite fishing.
Families who love fishing together will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Also, remember to bring snacks so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty stomach!
You'll step aboard a 60' Offshore sport fishing with room for 6 passengers. It comes with outriggers, downriggers, a fighting chair, and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. Your captain will provide rods and reels, as well as lures. Live bait is on offer, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.
A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. A 10–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work. Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, so all you have to do is look forward to your trip! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. If you don't know what to expect, ask the captain. Please note there is an additional 6% sales tax.
It's recommended to bring sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen (non-spray), and bottled water. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
The click of a button is the only thing keeping you from a great day on the water with Kahuna Charters LLC!

Due to no fault of the captain or first mate, it just wasn't in the cards for us to catch tuna when we went. There were only a few charters that ended up scoring one. However the captain and first mate made sure we at least finished with fish in our cooler. After trying all day and striking out, we moved on to catch more than enough tile fish to eat for months! We appreciated his persistence and effort to try and get us a Tuna. Next time, we hope. Thanks to Reed and Justin.
The captain and mate were knowledgeable and helpful. This was the first time I have caught yellowfin tuna. Compared to other saltwater trips I have made this was the best boat and crew I have been with. All 5 people in our group caught tuna and we will use them when we go again. If you want to catch tuna take this boat.

We recently spent (2) full days back to back off shore in the gulf stream with Captain Reed Meredith & 1st mate Steve. "The Kahuna" 60' luxury fishing yacht is very clean, organized and very well equipped with best quality reels and tackle you need to land the species of fish your after. Reed was extremely knowledgeable and put us on the fish each day. Steve was very helpful and experienced and baited all our hooks and secured each fish we caught. We ended up catching over 100lbs of cleaned and fileted Maui Maui & Yellow Fin Tuna. We won't hesitate to book another trip with Reed & " The Kahuna" the next time we go to Outer Banks, NC.
