Fernando's Tours – "Fortuna"
Hoping to go fishing in La Paz? Fernando’s Tours is your ticket!
Depending on conditions, you might hook into Bonito, Black Marlin, Blue Marlin, Mahi Mahi, Roosterfish, Striped Marlin, Sailfish, Yellowtail Snapper, Skipjack Tuna, Yellowtail Amberjack, and anything else that bites. You’ll target your catch by trolling, jigging, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Any fish within the legal limit is yours to keep. Plus, you can have your catch cleaned.
Your vessel for the day is a 25’ Center console that holds up to 4 passengers. It comes with outriggers and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Capt. Fernando will supply rods and reels for you, along with lures. Live bait is available, but it’s good to ask about this so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.
Trips are run with the help of a First Mate. It’s customary to tip the Mate 10–20% to show your appreciation. Before coming aboard, it may be necessary to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
Families making a day of it will be glad that kids are welcome aboard! If you don’t have a child-sized life vest, ask if there’s one on board. It’s recommended to bring snacks, a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen (non-spray). Drinks are included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but avoid hard liquor and glass bottles.
Treat yourself to a day on the water with Fernando’s Tours.
