If fishing in Holden Beach is on your bucket list, look no further than Salty Southern Adventures. With Captain Aaron at the helm, you’ll benefit from years of knowledge and experience. Captain Aaron has a total of 30+ years of fishing off the shores of Brunswick County. This is a Veteran owned and operated family business. When booking a trip with Captain Aaron you will have a fun-filled time on the water!
These waters are home to King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Mahi Mahi, Blacktip Shark, Amberjack, Great Barracuda, Bluefish, Bonito, Cobia, Sailfish, Flounder, and more, depending on when you go. On these trips, you can expect to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.
Capt. Aaron believes in teaching kids to fish while they’re young, so feel free to make a family day out of it! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Also, remember to bring snacks so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty stomach!
Your vessel for the day is a 28’ Contender center console that holds up to 6 passengers. It has outriggers, downriggers, and everything else you need for a productive day on the water. The boat includes all Coast Guard-required safety equipment and more. Rods, reels, and tackle are covered by the charter, as well as lures. Live bait is on offer, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, so all you have to do is show up ready for a good time! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish. Don’t forget to bring bottled water, sunglasses, and sunscreen (non-spray). Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Big Cuda!
4 Hour Trip – Near/Inshore (AM) on July 3, 2025 • 1 adult • 2 children
We did a four hour trip. Aaron took us about 9 miles out; it was me and my two oldest boys (14 and 12); the day before he called to check and see if the boys would be up for going that off shore, etc and said he's flexible if any of us got sick (that did happen). We only caught one fish, but it was a 35 lbs Barracuda that my 12 year old had to fight for 20 minutes! Aaron was great coaching him as the "cuda" latched onto our smallest rig! Aaron was great; he can't control the fish biting, but he knew where they were and my boys had a blast. My oldest got sick, so we headed back, but as we got closer to shore he felt better, so we did a little trolling and got a hit for a spinner shark that got away. Recommend him for first timers or experienced anglers.

Fun offshore trip
8 Hour Trip – Near/Offshore (4 MAX) on June 23, 2025 • 2 adults
My brother and I took our first offshore trip with Captain Aaron today and he made our experience a great one! He was extremely personable and answered every question I had about offshore fishing (and I had a lot). We started the day with and amberjack and king fish and then a few minutes later hit a whole school of AJs and had four rods screaming at once. Since we were then at our limit for AJs, Aaron decided it was time to move on to try to find other fish. We trolled a while more and had some tough luck so Aaron decided to give bottom fishing a try. First four drops we got bites. Aaron also threw a long line out and as we were finishing bottom fishing a huge king made the long line scream. After a several minute fight, the tax man came to collect and an 8 foot shark crushed the king. Sucked we didn’t get it in, but for first time offshore, it was also cool to see. Aaron worked his butt off the entire time, taught us what we needed to know, and was genuinely a great guy. You can tell he loves what he does and loves to see his clients happy. I highly recommend him to anyone looking to fish. We will definitely be back fishing with him! Thanks Captain!

We have an amazing time with Captain Aaron! Our four kids (12,11, 9, & 9) LOVED this charter! Not only did Captain Aaron put them on fish right away, he adjusted several times to make sure the bites kept coming. We caught 30+ fish in 2 hours with four novices. Plus, he even let the kids drive the boat a bit while heading back which was a highlight for them all. Super easy to communicate with even when our plans had to shift due to Scouts, very reasonably priced, and overall just a wonderful experience for the whole family! We will 100% book another trip with Captain Aaron! Thank you so much!

6 Hour Trip – Near/Offshore (4 MAX) on July 15, 2025 • 4 adults
We took a 6 hour trip and had fun the whole time. The weather was a little iffy at first but we decided to give it a go and it passed shortly after we got to our spot. Captain Aaron is a very down to earth and knowledgeable dude. We ended up getting four hits and landed three 36+ inch barracuda. We will definitely be booking another trip the next time we are in the area!

Awesome Trip for my Dad and my Boys

We purchased a fishing charter for my dad for Father’s Day and his birthday. He took 2 of my sons - ages 11 and 8 with him. Capt Aaron was amazing!!! He put the boys on the fish. They’re begging to go again. My dad’s dream has been to make fishermen of my sons and he succeeded with the help of Capt Aaron. 25 fish later, they are hooked!!!
