Marina El Cid – Mojito 42'
If you plan on fishing in Puerto Morelos, look no further than Marina El Cid. Having logged many hours on these tides, your captains are prepared to put you on fish.
These waters are known for Sailfish, Bonito, Mahi Mahi, Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Great Barracuda, Wahoo, Mutton Snapper, Red Grouper, Cubera Snapper, Amberjack, and more – with any luck, you’ll have tight lines in no time. You can expect to do some light tackle fishing, trolling, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
If you’re traveling with the family, you will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise, you should bring your own. Also, remember to bring snacks so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty stomach!
Your fishing machine for the day is Mojito, a 42’ Cayman offshore sport fishing vessel with a capacity for 10 passengers. It comes with outriggers, downriggers, a fighting chair, and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. What’s more, this vessel is wheelchair accessible. Rods, reels, and tackle are ready for you, as well as lures.
There will be a First Mate on board to help your trip run smoothly. It’s customary to tip the Mate 10–20% to show your appreciation.
There’s no need to buy a fishing license, so all you have to do is show up ready for a good time! Keep in mind that you may release some fish due to regulations. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.
Some essentials to bring are sunglasses, a hat, and sunblock (non-spray). Drinks are included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. Lunch is provided on 6 and 8-hour trips, just reach out to learn more, especially if you have any dietary needs.
Now, come aboard with Marina El Cid and get hooked!
