Hoping to catch some lobsters in Dana Point? Make it happen, with Dana Wharf Sportfishing aboard Reel Fun!
From novice to expert, everyone will enjoy discovering their love of sportfishing, conservation, and the great outdoors on these evening excursions.
Dana Wharf Sportfishing welcomes kids, aged 5 and above, aboard, so go ahead and bring the whole family along! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. And, you can’t go wrong with snacks so that nobody gets cranky on an empty stomach, luckily there are food and beverages available for purchase on the boat.
Your trip begins aboard Reel Fun, a 58’ classic fishing vessel with a capacity for 10 passengers. It has all the essentials no lobstering machine can run without. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. What’s more, this vessel is wheelchair accessible. All equipment will be provided for you.
Trips are run with the help of a First Mate. Mates often work for tips and it’s customary to offer them a 10–20% tip.
You will need to buy a local fishing license and lobster report card before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Don’t leave home without a hat, sunglasses, bottled water, and sunblock (non-spray). Alcohol is not allowed. All lobsters must be legal to keep and are measured by the crew.
