Rod Bending Charters offers an exciting range of fishing charters along the waters of Galveston Bay! Captain Jason Woods has been fishing the Gulf since he was a child and has turned his hobby into a trade on the very same waters. He's passionate about helping first-time anglers and children make their first catch.
Head out on a 24' Dusky center console boat, powered by a 250 HP Evinrude engine. Propelling you to speeds of 40 knots, you'll reach the hottest fishing spots in no time. The boat has a GPS, fishfinder, VHF, sonar, and includes a live bait tank to get the most out of each fishing trip. There is a porta potty in the center console. Sun junkies can use most areas of the boat, catching the rays while casting, while the T-top protecting the center console ensures that you have room to cool off.
You'll be provided with high-quality rods and reels. To make your catch, you'll try out a range of fishing techniques, such as jigging, popping, and bottom fishing, and Capt. Jason and his crew will be more than happy to lend a helping hand.
Half and full day trips will have you targeting big Red Fish, Trout, black drum, flounder, Jack Crevalle, and Sharks, amongst others, but you can also target Sharks on more specialized trips.
Rod Bending Charters love to have families on their trips, so bring the kids for a fun day on the water. They do their best to put you on the fish, and ensure you have a great time out on the water. All you need to bring is your snacks, drinks & fishing license. If you are successful, you'll even be able to take your catch home with you, cleaned and prepared for you to warm up.

Adam & Drestin were experts from start to finish: communicating before the trip, getting us safely and swiftly to find the fish, setting everything up while we relaxed, coaching us as we reeled in the fish, helping us document our great time with family photos, and cleaning and packing up our haul! They even gave great suggestions about how to cook our catch! They were friendly, knowledgeable, and made the day SO fun! we all agreed it was our favorite outing while we were in Galveston, and one of our top favorite activities ever as a family! definitely go fishing with Rod bending charters. You will be so glad you did!

I recommend this group.

I totally forgot to buy tags for drum catches so I could not keep, however within 10 minutes of casting we hooked on to two huge red drums on two rods in one go! What a fight it was and it was my PB , also caught a variety of other fish and Captain Conner would help unhook and share some cools facts about everything we caught before releasing which was very appreciated. Recommended this to anyone who wants to fish with their family/kids or catch a PB for your first time, Rob bending charters and Captains like Conner will take care of you and help you create memories for a lifetime. Thank you!

Half Day Jetty/Ship Channel (11AM) on March 23, 2024 • 4 adultsFamily of 4 here with minimal fishing experience. The water was a little rough on the way out to the jetty. We were following another charter out and Jim slowed down and maneuvered the waves to keep from beating us up. Once we dropped anchor the crew was very patient with us. They had extra poles in the water, when one of them would have a fish on it was handed to one of the kids. They had fun. At the end of our journey they cleaned our catch for us and recommended a hut in Huli that would cook them for us. We asked for a fishing trip, and that’s what we got.

Captain Conner was very well experienced, he got on the fish as soon as we got to the first stop and it was nonstop action afterwards. We caught a variety of fish, had some great fights reeling the fish in, and had an amazing time. He communicated throughout due to weather forecast for the area and it being a last minute trip we planned.

Our fishing trip was a great experience! We were excited that we caught 6 catfish. Captain made it a great experience for my husband, daughter, and I. Even tho we got rained out we still enjoyed it and say we got the full on experience!

Captain Adam and the first mate were awesome. They made my Dad feel comfortable even after getting an upset stomach and made sure we had a blast. We caught some big sharks and some gaffs even with the weather not cooperating

Amazing experience! Adam and Hunter curated the most fun four hours, completing tailoring things to us. We brought home tons of shark steak (we caught — they cleaned) and possibly even more stories.
