Fishing Watamu Kenya is located in Watamu, Kenya, a small coastal village approximately 120km north of Mombasa, and 25km south of Malindi.
Watamu means “home of the sweet people” in Swahili, and you will find a strong sense of community here, along with beautiful white-sand beaches, and UNESCO marine protected areas boasting exceptional reef-protected lagoons.
Thrilling offshore fishing trips are aboard a 33’ Bertram boat, which is powered by twin 330HP Caterpillar engines, and is equipped with GPS, fishfinder, VHF radio, and sonar. It can accommodate up to four anglers, and features a roomy deck and galley with couch, toilet, shower, icebox, radio and CD player.
To get the most out of your day, it comes equipped with flybridge and marlin tower, fighting chair, outriggers, downriggers, centerrigger, tuna tubes, and live bait tank, while the first mate will be on hand to assist in tackling whatever exciting species is biting.
Fishing Watamu Kenya specializes in a range of techniques including light tackle, bottom fishing, jigging, popping, and fly fishing. Once onboard, you’ll try out top-of-the-line fishing equipment.
They offer half and full day trips, and mostly target Marlin and Sailfish, along with other game species. On all the trips, you’ll be supplied with rods, reels and tackle, lures, live bait, a fishing licence, snacks and drinks.
If you find another angler you want to share a trip with, that can also be done - the charter is quite flexible and is primarily focused on delivering unforgettable experience. If people agree to share the costs, the captain will gladly take them on.
You just need to show up, get onboard and have a blast, while appreciating the big game off the coast. Fishing Watamu Kenya adheres to a strict ‘Catch and Release’ policy in support of Billfish conservation worldwide.
