There’s a fish with your name on it in Denarau Island and Hidden Gem Fiji will help you catch it! With Captain Ed at the helm, you’re in knowledgeable and experienced hands.
Species like Mahi Mahi, Sailfish, Black Marlin, Blue Marlin, Yellowfin Tuna, Dogtooth Tuna, Giant Trevally, and more are in the cards if you cast your line at the right time of year. On these trips, you can expect to troll using light or heavy tackle.
Planning a family adventure? Kids are absolutely welcome! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise, you should bring your own.
Your fishing machine for the day is Looney Tunes, a 36’ Black Watch sportfishing vessel with room for 8 passengers. It has outriggers, a fighting chair, and all the essentials. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. Rods, reels, and tackle are provided, along with lures. Live bait is included, but you should ask the captain whether you’ll be catching it yourself.
Trips are run with the help of a First Mate. A 10–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.
Before coming aboard, you’ll need to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off-limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
It’s always wise to bring sunglasses, sunblock (non-spray), and a hat. Drinks are included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be food and some light snacks available on board.
Now and then the fish might get away, but a day on the water never should. So make it happen, with Looney Tunes!
