I recently had the pleasure of embarking on a fishing trip in Costa Rica, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. Costa Rica’s stunning coastline provided the perfect backdrop for our adventure. The lush greenery, clear blue waters, and diverse wildlife made the trip even more memorable. We were surrounded by breathtaking scenery that felt like a slice of paradise.

We booked our trip with Grey’s Fishing Tour in Quepos, and our guide, Greivin Rosales, along with the first mate, was exceptional. Their expertise and passion for fishing were evident, and they went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time. The crew’s professionalism and dedication to safety were also commendable. They provided top-notch service and made us feel at ease throughout the trip.

The boat was well-equipped, clean, and comfortable. The crew was knowledgeable and friendly, offering tips and tricks to help us catch a variety of fish. We were thrilled to reel in two Jack fish, making the experience both exciting and rewarding. The crew’s enthusiasm and support exceeded our expectations, making the trip even more special.

Overall, our fishing trip in Costa Rica was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I highly recommend to anyone looking for adventure, relaxation, and incredible natural beauty. The crew was great, very friendly and patient with my son!  They worked hard to get just on fish but inshore fishing was t the best for this time of year.  They worked very hard to get us on fish.  We had some fish on the where lost more then likely to inexperience.  I was able to catch a nice Jack on a top water popper and had another on which if you have fished Bass with top water bait it was the same excitement x10.  We got some great memories and had fun.  I would use them again!!

Captain Rosales went above and beyond to put us in an opportunity to catch fish. We had challenging seas and a tough bite. I was able to land my first yellowfin Tuna, so that made my day. We followed the schools and had other opportunities to get on some Tuna, but they were only eating the tiny sardines. We had some exciting billfish strikes trolling but no hookups. That’s why it’s called fishing and not catching. Made for a great day!

We did a full day offshore fishing trip March 28/24, it was amazing! We ended up catching 8 blackfin and 8 yellowfin tuna in varying sizes, there were boats fishing in the same area that caught nothing all day! Along with the fishing, we were surrounded by dolphins the entire day and even saw a couple schools of rays. It was incredible - better than any tour we could have done.  Gerry and Greivin were friendly and fun hosts and obviously very knowledgeable of local fishing practices.  We decided to end our day after trolling for some sailfish. I wouldn’t hesitate to book this charter for our family of 4 again.

I booked with Capt Grey after messaging him and getting a full detailed fishing report that I felt was not hyped up unrealistically like many charters do. As an avid angler from the U.S. I did not want simply a boat ride but to get after some fish, specifically rooster fish. Capt Grey went above and beyond catching bait the night before so we would have live bait and our best chance at catching a Rooster. We ended the day with 4 Rooster, 7 jacks, 1 cubera and a catfish. We had an action packed day and to end the day made a move to a spot in hopes for a giant rooster which capt said it was a chance but no guaranteed as all things are, but the spot was one that held very big rooster fish. We saw one in the water that was giant but didn’t didn’t get the bite. Capt and mate’s English was very good and they communicated the plan very well and very friendly. Boat had cold beers and water ready to go and fruit for a snack. I would of came back the following day to repeat the trip but capt was booked, will be back next time for sure
