Frisky Reds – Frisky 2
Make the most of your time in Galveston and go fishing with Frisky Reds. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Brandon is prepared to put you on fish.
Depending on conditions, you might hook into Redfish, Blacktip Shark, Red Snapper, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Cobia, Mahi Mahi, Black Drum, Mangrove Snapper, Blackfin Tuna, Gray Triggerfish, Speckled Trout, Lane Snapper, and who knows what else! On these trips, you can expect to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.
Looking to get the whole family outdoors? Kids are absolutely welcome! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Snacks are also a good idea so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty belly!
Your adventure begins aboard a 34’ Grady-White 336 center console with room for 6 passengers. It has outriggers and all the essentials. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. Capt. Brandon will supply rods and reels for you, as well as lures. Live bait is available, but it’s good to ask about this so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.
There will be a First Mate on board to help your trip run smoothly. Mates often work for tips and it’s customary to offer them a 10–20% tip.
You will need to buy a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off-limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
It’s never a bad idea to bring sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen (non-spray), and bottled water. If you’d like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
Now, time to hit the water with Frisky Reds!
